Dr. Martin VOGELSANG
Has a long-standing career and background in the banking and strategic consulting business.
Martin was the founding Managing Director of Bundesinitiative Impact Investing (BIII) which is based in Berlin. BIII currently has around 140 members. The main focus of this networking organization is to promote awareness of impact investing and to establish a new attitude in the German business and financial world.
Supporting Ukraine Social Venture Fund (USVF) Martin is also a pro-bono consultant focusing on establishing a viable incubation platform in Ukraine, where businesses, investors, scientists, and other relevant stakeholders will collaboratively develop innovative and sustainable products and services. A key cooperation partner within this project is the Reconstruction Ukraine platform, an initiative of the German Federal Government.
He is a partner at Social Synergy (http://sosynergy.org/) based in Mumbai (India) which invests patient capital and on-the-ground technical advisory to start-up social enterprises as well as mature non-profit-organizations, supporting them in developing and streamlining their business models to leverage their potential. Martin spent several years in India. In 2010 he launched a social enterprise-incubator based out of Bangalore (India) focusing on seed investments and capacity building.
He has a PhD in Business Ethics. PhD-thesis: “The Power of the German Banks – a Sociopolitical Problem Analyzed by Means of Modern Economic Theory”.
