Dr. Benjamin Siering
Benjamin Siering is a Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft (PwC) in Germany which is mandated to manage the federal funding instrument “Investment Guarantees” by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy. Investment guarantees by the German Government protect German direct investments abroad against political risks. Since 2022, the guarantees have been highly relevant for German investments in Ukraine, as war risks can be covered as a sort of political risks.
Since 2016 Benjamin has been member of the Investment Guarantees Team at PwC. He is currently acting as Head of Legal Compliance and has comprehensive experience in advising investors on the management of political risks in several countries and handling compensation proceedings and the corresponding negotiations between companies and the German government. In recent years, Benjamin has been particularly involved in compensation proceedings of German companies resulting from Russia’s attack on Ukraine (war-related destructions) and the Russian state’s actions against German investors in Russia (expropriations and expropriation-like interventions). Before joining PwC’s Investment Guarantee team, Benjamin was a litigation and commercial lawyer at national and international law firms.
