Dr. Adrian Mahlkow
Dr. Adrian Mahlkow (born 1971) graduated in physics from the Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin) in 1997. Directly after his studies, Adrian Mahlkow became a project manager in 1998 at the Gesellschaft zur Förderung angewandter Informatik (GFAI e.V.) in Berlin-Adlershof, today a member of the Zuse community just like Optotransmitter-Umweltschutz-Technologie (OUT e.V.). Before the turn of the millennium, he moved to OUT e.V., a non-profit research institute specialising in optoelectronics and environmentally compatible technologies. Parallel to his work as a project leader, he completed his doctorate in 2003 and has been working on his habilitation in technical optics since 2005. Since 2005, Dr Mahlkow has been a member of the board of OUT e.V., and will be the deputy chairman until the end of 2022. In addition to his work for this industrial research institute, Dr Mahlkow regularly holds lectureships: “Technical Optics”, Master’s programme “European Master of Science in Optics”.
Since 1999, Dr Mahlkow has led more than 40 research projects with different focuses on LED technology. In 2004, he founded an accredited measurement laboratory for all physical quantities of LEDs at OUT e.V..
He also works as a technology consultant for various companies and was a member of the board of Optec-Berlin-Brandenburg e.V. and the Competence Network for Optical Technologies and Microsystems Engineering from 2015 to 2022. Since 2021, he has been on the presidium of the Zuse Association and a member of the German Physical Society and the European Physical Society.
Since 1.1.2023, he has been the new managing director of OpTecBB e.V.
