Vitali Klitschko opens Kyiv Investment Forum-2021

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko opened the Kyiv Investment Forum, which is being held today in the capital.

According to the mayor, over the six years of the forum, it has become an international investment platform where the achievements of cities are presented, experience in confronting global challenges is shared, and sustainable urban development is discussed.

"For the sixth year in a row, the Ukrainian capital is pleased to welcome the participants of the Kyiv Investment Forum. Everyday challenges make us stronger, more experienced, and more efficient In our work, and in the transformations we implement. And after what we went through during the pandemic, we can say that we are all practically Terminators. Kyiv is changing, becoming more comfortable and beautiful. We are doing everything to improve living standards in the capital. Today, the focus of the city authorities is on landscaping, the development of communal and transport infrastructure, the creation of clear and transparent rules for business development," Vitali Klitschko said.

He noted that almost a quarter of Ukraine's GDP is created in Kyiv. There are 6 times more direct investments per Kyiv resident than the average in Ukraine. Today the capital is one of the largest exporters of IT products, and Kyiv programmers are known all over the world. Creative industries have also been developing very dynamically in recent years. "Kyiv has something to be proud of and something to attract investors. And many such opportunities will be presented today here at the forum. We focus on innovations. Let me remind you that the capital was the first in the country to start implementing smart technologies in city management and is becoming more and more "smart", - said Vitali Klitschko.

Among the services used by Kyiv residents are, in particular, online registration to kindergartens, electronic registration to see a doctor, Kyiv Citizen's Cabinet, and appeals to the city authorities through petitions. This is also an electronic ticket for public transport and payment for parking through the mobile application "Kyiv Digital". This is an interactive map of municipal equipment operation, the Safe City video surveillance system, and many other services that the city is constantly updating.

The Public Budget is also very popular among Kyiv residents. For several years they have been voting for projects from their smartphones. And the residents of the capital are more and more actively submitting ideas on how they want to see their city. Over five years, the capital has allocated UAH 880 million for the implementation of the Public Budget projects. During this time, almost 1,000 projects of Kyiv residents were implemented. And next year the funding of the Public Budget was increased to UAH 200 million.

"All this is only a part of the transformations that we, together with Kyiv residents and businesses, are implementing in the capital. We have many plans and promising projects. During the forum, ProZorro Sale Director presented the mayor of the capital with the Building Markets and Trust Together award for effective cooperation in holding open and transparent auctions in Kyiv. Kyiv Investment Forum 2021 is the sixth annual event held in the capital. The forum brings together more than 30 speakers from 14 countries, including mayors of European cities and representatives of municipalities, urbanists, international and Ukrainian investors, artists, and sustainable development experts.

During the event, five discussion panels will be held. Participants will focus on the issues of creative transformation and new opportunities for investment-attractive industries, rapid urban development, environmental protection, sustainable community health, as well as tools for attracting investment in Greater Kyiv projects.
